Now that you have been on your HIV dosing regimen for a little while now, it’s a good idea to see how well it is working for you.
Use this list of questions to spark a discussion between you and your healthcare provider.
- How hard is it for you to take your HIV meds the way your healthcare provider told you to?
- If you miss a dose, is it in the morning, evening or middle of the day?
- Do you ever skip a dose because your meds make you feel bad?
- Do you ever go a day without taking your HIV meds?
- What side effects do you experience? How often, and for how long?
- Have you been feeling more tired since you started taking your current HIV meds?
- Are you concerned that HIV itself, the length of time you’ve been on HIV therapy or the HIV meds you are now taking might cause either of these side effects?
- Weight loss in the arms, legs, buttocks or face
- Weight gain in the upper back and neck, breast or abdomen
- Would you be interested in talking to your healthcare provider about whether a change to your HIV dosing regimen is right for you?
- If you could change one thing about your HIV treatment, what would it be?
